Embark on a captivating journey commencing at the base of Doupiani rock, nestled beneath the ancient remnants of the Pantokrator monastery. Traverse through the vast rock formations, leading you to the northern expanse of Meteora. On this side, you'll uncover the concealed Ypapanti monastery and the remnants of St. Dimitrios. Immerse yourself in the tales and legends that accompany each site along the trail, where the thousand years of history come to life through the enthralling narratives of our knowledgeable local mountain guides. Subsequently, explore the renowned monastic complexes of either Great Meteoron or Varlaam, and then descend along the age-old footpath trodden by monks for centuries. You are entitled to 75% of the booking amount up to 48 hours and 50% of the booking amount up to 24 hours.
Visitors and pilgrims are required to follow a dress code in order to enter the monasteries. Women must wear a skirt (reaching below the knee) and have their shoulders covered. Men must wear long pants (preferably) or shorts (reaching below the knee) and have their shoulders covered, as well.
You get to choose when the private tour starts.
We can pick you up from your accommodation in Kalampaka or Kastraki, as long as our minibus can drive there. Otherwise, we will arrange a meeting point nearby from where we will pick you up.
Since the city of Trikala is 21 kilometers from the town of Kalambaka, we can pick you up from your accommodation at an extra cost. Otherwise, we can contact you with some suggestions as to how you can get to Kalampaka in order for you to join the tour.
Our tours run as normal, unless the weather conditions are extreme. In this case, you have the option to either change the date or the activity or cancel and get a refund.

Given that private tours require a little bit more planning on our behalf in order for you to receive the best service, we suggest you book a private tour, at least, 24 hours prior to the tour's starting time.
Since this is a private tour, you get to choose how many and which monasteries you will visit.

All monasteries have, on average, 200-250 steps each (with the exception of The Nunnery of St. Stephen, which has only a small bridge).
Each monastery has an entrance fee of 3€ per person. Children up to 12 years old do not pay an entrance fee.
